Woree State High School Reef Guardian Schools Reef Trip 🐟🪸

Reef Guardian School Woree State High School Marine Science students took a trip out to the Great Barrier Reef on Down Under Cruise and Dive this term to collect biodiversity data for their assignments. Students collect data using the Eye on the Reef 10-minute swim survey method and recording all the key species they see on the Eye on the Reef waterproof slates. The Eye on the Reef is a program put forth by the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority (GBRMPA) to collect and record citizen science data. Anyone can participate and record the data to help GBRMPA monitor the health of the reef. WSHS will provide data to GBRMPA as well as collate data over numerous trips to the reef. 🌊🐠🐙🐳🐬
